Will this let you remove the body to work on, like you have been talking about?

That's my plan. I will probably leave the floorboards intact to the body, but modify around the firewall so I can keep the wiring, steering and other components intact with the frame. I am worried about the jiont between the outer skin and floorboards if I make just the outer skin removable. I will be using the jeep for trails and sand as well as racing, so I have to look out for kids fingers and dog toes. I picked up another tub this weekend and got the tubing. Now I just need some plating to sandwich the floor.

I pickup another tub that's in better shape that the one I modified. I'll be able to replace the rough panels now. Also got the roll bar tubing, but need the get the floor board reconstructed before bending tubing. Does anyone have thoughts on using 1/8" aluminum for floor plating or using 1/16" steel and where I can get the material. I'm reconstructing the floor frame work with 1" x 1" square steel tubing.

Does anyone have a connection for 1/8" aluminum sheet. I think this is what i'm going with for the floor. I called pacific sheet metal in Tigard, but i'ts $180 for a 4X10 sheet.

Thanks I was talking to my dad yesterday and evidently my cousin has a few 4x10 and 4x12 sheets of 10 gauge aluminum. He told me that it is a little thicker than 1/8", but checking some charts 10 gauge aluminum is a little thinner that 1/8" and steel is a bit thicker. I can get it at half of retail, so about $90 a sheet. It's polished with the protective film on it. Let me know if anyone is interested in some.

Looking sweet Mike! I bought the HF tube notcher and it works quite well but your way works good too. The notcher works good for angles.

I was going to buy the hf notcher, but a friend built a exo-cage and said that the notcher got destroyed. How has yours held up?
Hopefully I'll get this thing far enough along by May for the pnw races. If not, sb6 for sure. Looks like there should be enough room for some descent size tires, 36" to 38" without lift, so I can play in the washout and not have to worry about braking my dd.
