for just trails around here the 1000s are fine. you might want a better shock for bombing around in sand. Its a toss up on how well your rig is balanced.

I always go to Oil filter service, they have anything and everything you would need, here is the address:
OIl filter service 615 Southeast Market Street Portland, OR 97214-3522 (503) 232-5126
For shocks I used the pro comp ES3000's, 33600, they have 15.5" of travel and they are pretty cheap.

Van boxes steer backwards. backwars from what? a standard 2wd box or a 4x4 box? cause you need a 2wd box to do a crossover

on the box, and blazerman71 this drag link looks ok if ya want it, the other one I got I hit with a hammer a few time so at least one side is not usable. also I broke the front brake lines off( I tried everything to brake them lose), so I'm not sure yet but I may have to swap ALL the brake lines from the 79 to this one. metric vs standard I think not sure.

Van boxes steer backwards. backwars from what? a standard 2wd box or a 4x4 box? cause you need a 2wd box to do a crossover Vans have the box behind the front end, so they have to go the oposite way. (I found out the hard way) Kinda weird to turn left and have the truck go right. LOL Unless you want to move the steering behind the front end and move the steering box back too. That might be cool...

finished welding the front cross member, looks ok, Ive seen worse drag link cracks me up. thanks blue blaz for the shackles, I had to cut out the cross tie and fill and drill the upper bolts smaller. I had to through in a few washers in the bottom to match the width of the top. well 2 inch drop cross member, 2 inch longer shackles and the rear springs up front should give me around 6 inches lift.
