That would have been a better story, but what happened is. I used the truck for my tree service to get my stump grinder into back yards and yard logs when lot clearing. So I beat the crap out of it and the IFS couldnt take the pounding. I was driving down the road and the driver side I-beam broke lose and of I went. There was not any body in the way so I lucked out and just went off the road. It cost $250 to have it brought home and a new pair of pants...

you wouldn't happen to have any of the stock axle parts laying around still, would ya?
pretty cool project, I'm in the process of gathering up the parts to build up my '90 ranger, and spare parts are always good...

I was mainly hoping for the manual hubs... those things are spendy... what all did you break anyway? they have the same outer U joints as a D44, there are things you can do to them to make them stand up better...
will do, I think I have most things under control, just need to finish the $500 order for gears and stuff, and a few preliminary things.

When mine broke it came off at the drop bracket for the center of the axle and just folded. I was going about 35 mph if I remember right, and it just came apart on the road. I didnt install the original lift , I bought the truck like that.
