some of the lifts are known to fail at certain points... even name brands. don't think I've heard of a pivot bolt shearing or anything though.

Ask anyone I point the truck and shove that skinny pedal threw the floor. That crap just dont hold up. SAS is the the way to go. Axles you use to do the SAS is up to you... I am going full width 1/2 ton next because this 35 broke.. I may be wasting my time with 1/2 ton as well but live and learn right??

what'd you break on that 30? there are kits out there to beef them up... there are people running the Dana 35 TTB axles on 37's and not having serious issues anything will break if you do it right

Ok... I cut the ranger all up and havent updated anything. I bobbed the front 6" on each side and folded the fenders in and welded them to the core support, cut the hood to match. Then I cut the leaf spring perches off the frame and slid the axle forward about 20" and shortened the driveline.. My first one and it works great!!!! I also cut the bed up and slid the sides in for now I think I am going to just take it off when I put the rollcage and sliders on. There will be pix put on tomorrow, the stupid camera died on me.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I would check the wheel bearings on those axles and change them if you have the $$, you should be just fine with the weight of the Ranger but those mobile home axles aren't made for constant work, they are made for kind of a one time deal.

The guy that sold the trailer to me showed me some stuff on maintaining the axles. I think it will work fine. for now. Hell of a start for $400 bucks I think

So you decided to take the bedsides off I see, that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen wheeling....You saying that you had to get your bedside that day was classic!

Hell of a start for $400 bucks I think For that price, you could go here www.trailerpart.com/52ktraileraxle.htm for less then $600 get 2 5200lb axles and electric brakes for it. I would have bought it for $400, and have enough money to upgrade stuff.
