You ran 7.5 axles in a 8.8? I was going to grab the complete spindles off that car I found, and the wheels, it has a disk rear so I'm going to avoid it and just look for a ranger, aerostar, explorer with a 8.8. I heard lincoln lsc or lcs what ever has the right axles too. After its five lug then I'll worry about disk rear, I am deff not going to downgrade to a 7.5 to get it. Theres a notch down the road a bit, I'm thinking about going to see if they will part with it, I've had a hatch before..............................

yes the axle shafts in the 7.5 are the same diameter-spline- everything as the 8.8 just have the 5 bolt flanges... the size of 7.5 and 8.8 refer to the ring gear diameter.... What year is the car down the road...the only FOX's that came with disks in the rear were the SVO's and the Cobra R's, both were 5lugs....neither of which came with a v6,the only fox bodys to come with the V6 were the 1979's (2.8), and the late 1983 to late 1986 (3.8)...As far as i have seen they never made a 7.5 with disks (maybe on an awd aerostar but IDK...)
if the axle is 5 lug and it is a disk setup than snag it, it will all bolt up to the 8.8. but beware the front spindles on 4cyl and v6 cars a different (mostly bearing sizes but some major strength differences) , but if front is 5lug also this maybe a converted setup, you may also want to look into using t-bird front spindles, if you can find a 5 lug version (turbo coupe) ...
yes the Lincoln rear would work, i personally would snag the whole rear from it however, i believe the Lincoln rears are actually wider by an inch or so, but still bolt up...

I knew the 7.5/8.8 were ring gear diameters just didn't know the same axle diameter, I just don't wana go down to the 7.5 just to get disk when at this point isn't very important to me. The 7.5 i saw is a 98 v6 car open diff. I just want the spindles at this point. I'm kinda leary about that lincoln rear, I wanna run 17 " 96' cobra wheels and not sure how thats going to change what back space I need and don't wanna pay a ton of money for some wheels. I noticed on that 98 car it didn't have the horisontal shocks on it so it made me curious what else was different in the way it mounts. If I can thow my diff in it I may get it just for the housing and disk and add the extra shock mounts on it, and the car had a full set of 16's on it I didn't think would look to bad on my car. I'll see about money when I get back but if the whole rear will work out for me I'll proly will go ahead and pick it up, I planned on going to 3.55's any way so it just makes sense.........

I had a nice reminder that I'm not used to being married. My wife asks me what I've been doing all day and I tell here " I went and got some groceries............ bought another car.........................." she was mad.

I didn't even look to see what trans it had but when moving it tonight it has a manual atleast now I don't have to swap in pedal and all that crap. The clutch is way easier to push in, wondering about that......
