I relocated the motor, trany, T-case back four more inches and down about two inches. The motor is now about 8 inches further back from stock position. Dropping it down puts it back at stock height so I'll have a better driveline angle with the four-link setup because it'll have more down travel and a shorter driveline. Hopefully this weight transfer will make it handle a little better on the track as well.

Got the link brackets cutout and tacked on the rear. Made from 3x3x3/16 tube steel. I need to get started on the top link mount now.

Just about done with the horrizontal top link truss mount. I think it looks a little wierd with the offset pinion, but the links centered. Just need to clearance the lower link brackets and drill the link bolt holes.

Scored another set of paddles. 16.50x15's. Just need to swap the wheels over to 8 lug wheels. Paddles on all 4?

BADASS!! Love your build. How hard was figuring out the geometry for the links? What did you consider when you build them? i.e. Travel, flex, wheelbase. Thanks, Nick

Thanks Here's where I come up with my design: www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/winter2007/4_link_tech.htm The main purpose of my build is obstacle racing, but I like to just play around as well. This makes it tough building an all around rig. You need the rig to have travel with limited body role on the track and sand dunes, but flexible offroading. At this point it's going to be more of a test and tune/trial and error kind of thing.

Great link! I've been wanting to wrap my head around linked suspensions for awhile. Keep up the good work!

The way the adjustable brackets are set up I should be able to lift the Jeep 4 1/2 inches (if i ever decide to) and still maintain the same link angles.
