what kind of intake is that? TBI? No, GM had some bastard years with their fuel injection systems, i think it was '92-94' ish that they did the CPI(central port injected) or central sequential fuel injection, or something like that, before it was switched to CMPI(central multi port injected) in '95.

Hey guys, Its been awhile. But the Jimmy is running and driving again. Ill give you guys the back story. Moral of the story is: Oregon Engine Rebuilders is a joke. They are @$$holes. Embarrassing customer service if you can even call it that. They dont build engines correctly or care to know how too. The engine started doing this within 10-15 min of running. youtu.be/xfHx-DkOlNQWhen they heard the video they said "sounds fine to me, I dont hear anything. Yup, sounds healthy" When I brought the engine to them, they disassembled it, with no sequencing at all, bolts strewn everywhere. When we pointed out the vertical scratches on the cylinder wall and piston skirt they said "looks like normal break in to me" No...... no its not... (face-palm). BUT, even though they denied anything was wrong with it, they rebuilt it again. Which I immediately put on CL. I sold it for a big loss, but screw putting and engine those monkeys put together. I got another engine off of CL for a decent price and eventually found the time to put it in. Then eventually found time to get it all running. and here we are. It goes, stops, turns.

I think Josh(Copenhagen) had an issue with the same company with his 383. I don't understand how they are still in business. Good to hear you got your rig going again.
I just looked back and it was Cylinder Head Specialties that he had the problem with......

I also had the problem with Cylinder Head Specialties, and my brother in law had a problem as well. I still have my 383 stroker motor sitting in the garage with messed up pistons. I agree, they suck! I'm glad you have it running again!

Ya I don't understand how companies how treat ppl like that are still around. I am really excited to have it going again. Been driving it around Corvallis. I have to finish a few more little things before I go wheeling though.

I just looked back and it was Cylinder Head Specialties that he had the problem with...... Im waaaay late on this, but ill post anyway. Yea my 383 was from CHS, and while it is still running now, Im not holding my breath... Coincidentally the 22re that i put in my four runner, I bought from Oregon Engine Rebuilders... The only problem i had, was a bad timing chain tensioner, Put a new one in.... Bout to turn 10,000 miles.... Lol after reading about boondocks expirience, Im gonna start hearing shit LOL They claim Lifetime warranty on the 22re i bought, If you go and have a shop hook a four gas analyzer up to it and get and air fuel ratio read out, and also have an exhaust shop run a backpressure test or some shit.... Neither of which i did, so i dont have the warranty... Completely my fault (obviously). On the other hand even if you have a warranty, the builder can still just blame it on you, or your installation, and they are free and clear.

Im sorry guys.
Im comming up on the last few years of school, which are the hardest. I hardly have any time or money to donate to it anyway.
the project fought me the whole time, but I learned a shit ton because of it.
Im at a stopping point and need to move on.
on the plus side, I have a potential cash buyer, and have been offered some nice Toyotas as trades. Although I do not want a project, If I am trading up to a complete, well built Toyota, I would be stupid to refuse.
