so finally got the old farm rig back up and running for a tow rig for the toys it had been sitting for about 10 years outside so it needed a little pressure washing but suprisingly no motor work it started right up with a fresh tank of diesel, i was so suprised that even the batteries didnt even need a charge!! for a motor is has a 7.8 L straight 6, 235 hp and like 900 ft/tq should do the job well enough blabber here it is.

Nice looking rig. Does it have air suspension in the rear. Doesn't look like there's much clearance between the rear tires and the bed with the Jeep on there.

yeah it has a air suspention in the rear it doesnt sit higher than that with no load, and it just has a 8.14:1 rear end with a 6 speed manual trans.

sorry for the thread jack

no problem does yours have the air suspention in the rear ? mine isnt working right the bags in the rear arent filling with air so its just sitting on the frame. i think it might be a regulator? but i havent had time to research what all is on my model, any input would help from aomeone who knows anything about air suspentions.

i dont have air suspension on it, just really big leaf springs. i know a lot about air suspension but not really on big trucks, i do aftermarket conversions on light trucks and cars. i might be able to help you figure out why its not working properly though

yeah if worst comes to worst where i cant figure it out or cant find the right parts i can always just change the fittings so i can hook up the air compresser or tanks straight to the bags and fill them up.

Do you know if the compressor is working ? Does it have a ride hight sensor? If so try that. There might be a dump valve, some where for lowering it too.

no ride hight sensor but i know the compressor is working because the lines for the air brakes come from the same tank, the lines from the tank that lead to the bags hits what i think is a regulator and then something else possibly a silinoid? not sure on that but it does have electrical connection to it beofre it leads to the bags.

If there is air brakes, there will be a valve that shuts off the air to the air bags when the air pressure gets too low for the brakes.

You don't want full tank pressure to the air bags!!!

you can plumb them direct to the tank with a regulator to manage the pressure in the bags. i would not exceed 100 psi on those bags

im assuming that, the line runs to a regulator and it hits a siloniod on the way to the bag im going to take a look at it tommarow and see if i can figure out if either of them is bad but i just dont know what the second thing the line runs to because it has a power wire or something running to it, if i cant figure it out tommarow ill get a picture of what it looks like to see if anyones got an idea
