its a 96 cherokee multi port injection , thanks guys for all the tips and advise, and offer to help,and loan tools, wont be working on this till next week ,things to do.....thks again if you're not planning on working on it until next week, let me know what day you're gonna be around and i can swing down that way and help out. I like trying to figure out wiring stuff. I'm a sick, sick puppy!

I've heard that on some of those you have to use the key in the liftgate and unlock it twice to reset the security system, or the passengers door? fyi

How's it going? Peter says he's seen distributor pick up coils go out on those quite often. You've checked to see if it has spark? I'm just giving him the little info here, probably with more info he could help more. Let me know if ya need his help.

wow that's pretty. hey kev, i'm waiting on my grandma to get tired of the jeep she just bought. i think its one like that that brenner just bought. grandma promised me to have it for $200. then somebody has to teach me how to work on those things! one of yall should start a jeep tech class, lol, i'd pay a few dollars in order to get some lessons on them.

My buddy had one and his problem was the crank sensor.

I think I have a crank sensor too?.....I replaced all the parts in my Black Jeep and have all these spare parts laying around. Most of them are about $80 each new. For the last 2 years, every payday I bought a new part. This way I know everything is in good working shape and have extra parts when needed. So I tell myself...really I've been chasing down a shorted wire. Think it was a loose conection on the steering column under the dash. Ran out of things to replace, checked the connection under the dash and now haven't had any problems....so far.
