Found my mystery squeak noise, rear driveline rear u-joint. Replaced both u-joints just to be safe. Now I have an emergency extra, front one was salvagable.

Had Dave at Dave's Automotive check out the jeep today. We found that the new header has a bad weld, so will need to get that warrantied from NAPA. Also found out that all 4 ball joints have got some movement in them, so looking at 4 new ball joints. But I think since the front axle has a little bend in it, I'll just pick up a used one from the wrecking yard.

Well I didn't want(or couldn't afford) to pay anyone to put the new warranty exhaust manifold on, so I did it my self. Wasn't too bad, but I'll be feeling it tonight and tomorrow. Everything went pretty ok since it was removed last September. Hopefully the new one won't leak, everything looks and sounds ok now.

did you put another stock one on or? Yep...another warrantied stock type one from NAPA. Got another noise that I'm chasing down now. Sounds like the fan touching the fan shoud when I trottle it a little while I'm driving. Did have that problem, but fixxed it. I narrowed the noise down to between the motor and transmission. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the flywheel?

if it was a warranty and a shop installed it the first time then the shop could have filed a warranty claim with napa and been paid by napa to change it out

Plus Dave already put 2 exhaust gaskets on the last one, so I'll see how this one goes. Damn thing is made in China with Dorman Products name on it. But all in all, it hasn't cost me anything, just my time, which I have a lot of right now.

if it breaks again, which is probably will since its the stock design, just weld it up more or get a thorley

Still have a noise between the motor and transmission somewhere. Sounds like a bolt or nut bouncing off the flywheel or inspection plate. I had Dicenn remove the inspection plate to see if the was anything bouncing around...and nothing, everything looks ok. The noise comes and goes, sometimes it's real loud and only when pulling a slight hill or under a little throttle. Seems like after I restart it, the noise goes away. I wonder if it's the gear on the starter coming loose and bouncing off the flywheel?

So we had a friend that wanted to go to TSF today and pick wild berries. They paid for gas for both the jeeps. Turned out to be a great day up there with just a little rain for a couple of minutes here and there. I had the thermostate in the black jeep stick closed on Hoodraiser trail and had to pull it out. Good thing I packed an extra thermostate gasket. We found some berries on Powerline Trail and on the west side of 7-UP. Pickings where kinda slim this year and we didn't find any salomberries but did find others. Was nice to get up to TSF again.
