Ok..went over today and checked out Rock Dawg's ball joint issue. From what I seen, they are ok, can't say I've ever really seen bad ball joints on a Dana 30. We tried to pound out the ball joints, even tried the impact, and they didn't even budge. So we went ahead and put the new used knuckle on and got it all back together. I checked the old ball joints for any movement, and they feel solid. I think with the new u-joints in the shaft, that everything should be ok. Only issue may be that we used the factory brake line and not a aftermarket extended one. My have a brake pull issue? And my not have enough flex on the factory type hose? Will have to do a flex to see? But for right now, should be road worthy

I've been driving it the last couple day's and I think the ball joint is messed up, I can hear it "clunck" when turning some times. I jacked it up last night and raised the tire with a big pipe (left over roll cage stuff). I think I could feel it move a little...

If it was moving "a little" probally wouldn't clunk. check your trac bar bracket, we had a Cherokee that came in that was clunking and the bolts on the trac bar were loose/broke. The b.j. don't usually clunk when turning, they can squeek, but it could be possible. The movement could also be bearings, the only way to know for sure is to shake it and have someone look to see what is moving. If they don't move by hand then the bar is over kill, there is a slight amount of movement allowed. Yes take it to Les Schawb and they can inspect it.

Trac bar bracket, bushings and Hyme are all new. Top Hymes on 4-link are all new, plus new bolts, nuts and washers.
I have not replaced the drag link or tye rods yet, but I have them. I hope to get them replaced this week then adjust my steering and toe before the weekend.
I have a small puddle of oil comming out of the axle shaft area on the passenger side. I'm hoping its just left over oil from driving it home with the rag in it and not a blown out seal or bent axle.

Will have a little coming out of the axle tube is normal after the axle has been out. Keep an eye on the fluid level, if a Large puddle starts, then there might be an issue. Remember, diff fluid is as thick as molasses.

Yes the Hi-hood would be nice.. I may deciede to do it later, but I will need a different hood to cut up. Mine is in to bad of shape to work that hard on it. This guy has the motor I want to build for my jeep. portland.craigslist.org/clk/pts/1208932494.htmlHere are the specs.. Engine was built for someone who changed their mind. It was never installed, and is still on engine stand. GT40P heads with 3 angle valve job & ported exhaust , COMP Cams double valve springs & locks, new seals and keepers, and nice exhaust porting already done $400, GT40 (Explorer) intake $200, E303 cam (new) $175, short block with TRW forged pistons, new rings, CLEVITE77 cam, main, and rod bearings, oil pump, double roller timing chain, FELPro gaskets. $650 Motor has been painted black. Complete motor can be purchased for $1500 360-989-4357 Valve Size: 1.84 intake 1.46 exhaust Chamber Volume: 60 cc Intake Runner volume: 145 cc Valve Spring (seat) 90 lbs @ 2.00 Valve Spring (@ .500 lift) 310 lbs @ 1.500 Valve Spring (coil-bind) 1.300 Retainer To Seat Contact 0.75 intake/ 0.77 exhaust Ex/Intake Flow Ratio 66.8 @ 5.00 lift Max Power (theoretical) 391 HP @ 5.00 lift 60 cc head raises compression about 0.6 point - when replacing a 65cc head on a 5.0 engine VALVE SPRINGS ARE GOOD FOR .600" LIFT. I have the GT40, Not the GT40P heads. Mine are not ported or polished yet... and they need rebuilt. I may be money ahead buying these heads and changing my exhost.. Not sure yet. The E303 cam is the same cam I have to install, but It's used.. Hmm. I will give him a call and see if I can work a deal maybe exchange my heads for these and some $$..
