Taurus fans work great, if you need measurements, I have a couple at home. Cheap & plentiful from the wrecking yard, move a lot of air, 2 spd. Run 1 in the cruiser.

Run the 2 speed tauras fan, I run mine on low all of the time and high when the engine hits 210*, keeps my engine nice and cool. Fins are tornado looking, but make sure you get the one with 3 wires, that is the 2 speed.

anybody remember about the cooler mounting? does the steering cooler have to be lower than the system?

Resivoir needs to be highest point in system. Cooler just needs to be mounted in such a way that air doesn't get trapped in the tubes.

i dont have many great mounting spots right now, would the distance the cooler is from the system have any effect on the pump?

also Jason are you running royal purple or ATF. i have heard that hydro runs better on ATF because the pump moves it faster, i have always used synthetic PS fluid with no probs. i dont want to burn up my pump though. any reccomendations on the matter?

I run a good quality power steering fluid. Nothing fancy but not the bottom shelf stuff. I was told atf wasn't good for my pump so I avoided it. I used t run it in my stock pumps but they only lasted for a season it seamed. As for the cooler being a ways from the system it should be fine. The important thing Is to keep the resivoir close to the pump as you can so it doesn't get the chance to starve it.

Royal purple would be a good way to go but very spendy.

I know the Trail-Gear pumps that are set up for the Hydro, have a disclaimer that says to run nothing but synthetic or it will void the warrenty, I think they recomend Royal Purple.
