I say if you aren't willing to break it you're not worthy to drive it. Built not Bought!
Hey my name is daniel and I drive a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 3" Lift and 31" Over the Hill Swampers.. need to be retired soon...seen too much asphalt.
I'm wanting to find an awesome club..and well I found yah and Just wanting to stick my head in here and let you all know to toss me a line if something local is happening. I have no idea where to go for local (within 20 miles) of where to go. I'm 19 engaged and starting to work at D-Stake mill so i'm not going to be able to afford to drive to Bend but I can afford to break something locally. I can also help out with tows because my family owns Always Affordable Towing out of Lafayette. (not advertising just letting you know I can offer something ot the club)

sand lake you have three main options for camping... 1)camp ground (mind fart can't remember how much that was right off hand) 2)parking lot $10 a night 3) on the sand $5 a night (but no alcohol on the sand)... lots of fun... I even had fun last year even though my truck broke down the night before going... So I had no rig to take out... My big truck is still on jack stands (I can't put in any money on it I am getting married Apirl 20th) So I will be taking my dd toy out... window banners are $10... hope to see you out there...

Alright you can count me in for that. I'm going to try and get on the sand.. more comfortable or i'll sleep in my rig in the parking lot. Bring me a few of those banners!! haha. I am for some reason getting a mazda navajo... no clue what i'm going to do with it.. but i know it needs a banner Is there a place i register or reserve a spot in the parking lot or sand? Just curious how official sandlake is.. i've been out there once and never actually did anything... -daniel thanks bud

Wewlcome to poorboy Their are a couple members out your way.. They wheel up by flying M i think. no reservations to camp in the sand just on busy weekends it does get crowded. I think it's $15 to camp in the campground.not sure but I think the lot is 1st come.

just need to tell me when and where. does that bbq come with a side of mud? i've yet to really get my jeep dirty since i've owned it... the toyota i was with when i first went 2 days ago broke his front axles going up a hill..so that stopped me from actually hitting the trails and getting more then dust on my jeep.. oh i have some new 30" swampers also i need to go break in -daniel

I'll bring what banners I have left to sandlake. If yur sleeping in yur rig there is a lot of us that have camp spots so parking in someones spot might be an option. Just remember the no alcohal on the sand is very inforced. parking lot will probly be full at night.

Ok I have the Off-Road Vehicle tag on the back of my Jeep. What else do I need to have to play in the sand?
Also is there a jeep mechanic that can help me by taking a look and driving my jeep to make sure I dont break down out there. I plan on just cruising around mostly and getting the feel of the machine and not go into steep dunes or pits.
So far i've found out the wheel bearing blew on the left front and the wheel collapsed going down i-5. replaced everything from hub assy to axle.
Front Sway bar was unbolted from underneat the gear box on the drivers side..
The gear box itself wasn't even tight and cause a major death wobble when I was going to Fred Meyer last night... the kind that if I didn't slow down and held tight onto the wheel I would have flipped over. So Today I'm tightening those bolts and putting the bolts into the sway bar. When im in 4hi my truck seems to hop .... i've only tried driving it in 4hi once.. maybe I should take a peek at it again. It's just hopping like I have the wheels turned all the way one directiong binding the knuckles...

well sand lake dont have any big dunes to really worry about. Make sure you have a FLAG. they do enforce that too.

on your 4hi problem might want to make sure your front and rear tires match on hight and if they do might want to check to make sure the front and rear gears are a match if eather of thoughs are off it will cause a bind in the tcase
