I was trying to tune the engine yesterday and it has a miss just off idle and up to about 2000 rpm. I tried adjusting the screws on the carb, but that didn't change any thing, so I'm guessing it might be the ignition. I sounds like one or two cylinders are dead, but it idles great and revs great. I can also hear the spark buzzing around in the distributor. I don't recall hearing a noise like that before in other rigs. It could be that the motor is exposed and the noise is easier to hear. I'm replacing the dist. cap, rotor and plugs tonight and see if that changes anything.
Any Ideas as to what else could cause this?
The motor is a late 90's 350 with a performer intake and eldelbrock 600 cfm carb.

Also, I got a highlift jack from Harbor Freight and it does not jack downward. I have to pry out the pins that lock it up and it comes crashing down. Are those just cheep jacks of what? Anyone else had the same problem?

Anyone else had the same problem? I have one of the harbor freight farm jacks (high lift like) and have not had that problem with it, besides the base on it makes a annoying rattle noise while its bouncing around. I would say you should try to exchange it because it sounds like it dose not function properly.

I've had it for a couple of year, so I don't think I can return it. I would like to pickup another one, but was thinking of buying one from somewhere else if there seemed to be other problems.

I have a harbor freight one as well. I've only used it a couple times but it works fine. I think you just got a bad one?

try oiling it. You might have a brocken pin on it too.
