well I finaly got a project rig, its a 85 xj. Ive droped a newer motor but this one has ac, and a buddy was tellin me to convert it into onboard air. O K sure, just soon as I find out how and if it is worth it. So hows it work does it last and is it a technical task or fairly simple? any advise or help is great thanks all.

its not too bad. you need an intake filter for the suction line. a pressure cutoff switch fo rthe high pressure side and and air tank. Take the wires from the clutch and run them to an on off switch.

Do these rely on oil in the AC system? If so, you'll need an automatic oiler too or it'll burn up within the first few times of using it.

some have a built in oil sump. does it have a belly on the bottom of it? if so it's self lubing. most of these are older units. so good luck.
