I was going to suggest more weld but then I remembered it's still a 12 bolt and you need a way to get the axle clips out. Looks good John.

Looks good John. when I welded up my buddies 7.5 in I welded up the spiders like that on both sides then I cut a piece of plate small enough to allow me to weld it to all four spiders then we left the other side open for pulling the c clips...

If it brakes it brakes, I got another 12 bolt 3.73, but a better option is a 14 bolt 3.73 on the floor of the garage, with a matching 10 bolt 8 lug front. when ever I get around to it.

skill saw is a good idea cause you can set your depth. was it hard to cut?

It was a little smokey when cutting, I did a few with a skill saw, was not vary easy, but than I changed over to a dewalt angle grinder, with a small 5 inch carbide saw blade. It would best be described as the finger removal tool. took me about 20 min, to do the tire, Id say I averaged about a 1/8th inch depth. I was covered with rubber dust when done.

well, guess this is going to mud fest this year, was thinking about putting the nova engine in it, just not sure if I'd get it in, on time. I'm totally free this weekend but I'm not sure if I could get it all done in two days.
