It's been a long time since I've updated this thread. Last summer Jason helped me rebuild the th400. While we were waiting for the parts, I decided to make the truck a full time off road truck and we welded the rear end. Best thing I'd ever decided to do as of yet. I'd always had an overheating problem with my truck, anyone who has ever run a trail with me knows that. So Jason had a 4 core radiator layin around out of a 6.2 diesel. with that I've been runnin cool since last summer. Ran a few runs and have had some fun with the truck. Almost wheels like a whole other truck with those few things done. Then on April 4th, Jason, Pat and I took our trucks to sandlake and wheeled the sh@t out of our trucks. that was the day Jason rolled. Well a while after that, I was playin in the washout and my truck was running better than it ever has at sandlake. going everywhere I wanted, haulin ass, just kickin but. I was lovin it. We were all over the washout, then I decided to climb the right side. thats when we heard the bang. Could have been worse but still pretty much done for the day. Was really glad I'd taken it on a trailer. The next day I hauled it to Jason's where it sits now. Last fall I'd boughten a dana 60(which turned out later to be a dana 61) and a 454ci big block. the repower is almost complete None of the acc are lining up so I'm having to build brackets or use some old ones that Jason has layin around. Should turn out pretty sweet when its done. As for the front axle, I think it will just get welded for right now till I can afford to re-gear the truck. The dana 61 has 3.07 gears and my 14-bolt has 3.73s so not too far off but more than I wanna run.

Yeah, been thinkin about shortening the bed like you see all those little toyotas do. Then cut the frame off at the rear bed mounts. not sure about narrowing just yet. Need my own shop before getting too carried away.
