well got a call yeasterday that my brother inlaw John (the one in the camo geo tracker) with us at sand lake well he was camping this last weekend at foster lake by his house and went down a old logging road to colect fire wood and was in 2x2 and went to turn around and got in to some hight grass and wet and got stuck and was to late for it to be put in to 4x4 so him and his friend got out to push it and as they were pushing it out the grass cought fire well no fire exstingwisher in the truck so it burn to the ground after the full gas tank blew up melted the allunima wheals. so I called Pig Pen and barowed his trailer tonight and got the bronco loaded on to it will be leaveing first thing in the AM to go down i guss they tryed to drag it out but only had a littel ford ranger with a bad clutch so the bronco will drag it out might flip it on to its top and drag it down the road that way ;D I will post pic's when we get back home from our trip i did talk to Pig Pen and i think i found my next project witch will be a 302 v8 and all ford running gear ;D
ok well I showed up at my Brother inlaws at 10am monday was out at the location at noon unloaded my bronco up the road and then the fun started. took most of the day to get it out and then on the trailer acutaly loading it on the trailer took the longest but not bad for no winch. got lots of pics to look at. the bad this we were going to scrap it but when we went to take it to the scrap yard they only buy scrap from public thur - sat and I was not going to stay down there till then and after thinking about what Pig Pen said when i barowed his trailer to do this I desided to bring it home and this will be mine and Johns next project rig top will be cut off and roll cage put in and all FORD 1/2 tone running gear and a 302v8 the bad thing is to get it home and tow my bronco back I had to put the tracker in the back of my tow rig got pics so enjoy them ;D and if asked if I would do this agian Yes i would
i look at trying to get it home any other way even thought about putting it on it backend and strapinging it to the back of the bronco but did not think that was as safe as it in the back of the truck. it acutaly fit pritty well only stuck out past the tail gate a foot ;D as for the top and doors they wont be there any more but we will see also it was a idea randy when i picked up the trailer we might change or mind after i get to randys today
after looking at the pics again it might have been ok before the recovery for a project. Looks like your only concern was getting it out. That thing is beat. looks like your front bumper held up though.
well yes after more looking and talking to randy would not be worth it could not be abel to tell it was a Geo so would lose the efect of haveing the ford running gear and yes you were right Jason after seeing where it was stuck at and the first pull on it i just gave it hell ;D but it was fun atleast
well after that weld job at sand lake it was towed home on pushed with at one point this recovery it even had a chain hooked to it to pull with it and never moved ;D thanks Jason for the great weld job
