Probably the ony guy in central Oregon, but I decided it was time to register - I'd been lurking for a couple months now. Seems every board I register on, I'm usually the only one from this way, everyone else is in the valley
So here's a bit about myself - David, 34, married for 15 years, 3 kids, 3 78-9 Broncos, a 77 Scout II, and a 78 Fairmont (that we're trying to sell). 1 of the 78 Broncos is a street/trail truck (but disabled at the moment), my 79 Bronco is my DD/tow rig (used it to flat tow the Scout from Camas), and the 3rd bronco is my 2wd project, or will be my matching trailer donor (I'm thinkin trailer).
Wife's been a dental tech for a little over 5 years, and I get to stay home, and build bumpers all day long. The Scout's already a serious project - getting an almost entirely new floor, and will be looking for a dodge 360 as soon as money allows. After that, the rollcage and seats go in. Being that this is the wife's truck, I got her talked into letting me do some kind of linked suspension - again, as money allows (I guess this is why it's called poorboy offroad, huh?)
The trail Bronco has a typical 4" lift, with a 429, on worn 36" swampers and stock axles. The body's been extensively modified - gone is the complete dash and heating, the rear seat, tailgate, hardtop and the roof. The doors have been replaced with unfinished halfdoors (for now. Custom door inserts will be done, at some point)
A couple pictures -
Stopped at a Walmart in Portland, after picking up the Scout (obviously)
I had to build the towbar for that. worked perfectly
The trail truck, before the serious body modification -
I had started on an idea for a rollcage for it, but have since changed my mind how it's going to look
