Also it back fires sometimes but timing was right an the plugs are NFL racin plugs, I'm starting to think it's the carb because no matter what I do it keeps running rich an it's an edelbrok hah

I fixed the carb leak doin it really bad. Were ruling it as the carb because it's chocking out and dying. And starting to backfire out the exhaust. And it's running a clunker pump which is believe is 4-7psi. And I'm gonna check the Choke but I dont think that's it

Were thinkin it's partially the distributor because it's a points distributor, an the needles in the carb because it acts up if I let it idle for a while. But when I'm cruising down the highway it's fine

Yes, I'm thinking carb and or distributor as well. Did it start after you got gas? Maybe some watter in the gas as well?

you might have checked already but, is the carb tight on the manifold? I had similiar issues on my 350 and ended up being that two of the four bolts were loose
