Been working on a project with a guy at work. He is building an electric ford ranger and I have been helping him with welding and machine work. I'll get more pics of the whole rig and all the parts but for now here is the electric motor adapted to the trans. I made the aluminum adapter plates and cut teh end of the crank off and machined an adapter to fit the motor shaft so the stock clutch could be used. Attachments:

oh man good luck, i hope that trans is up to the task... i remember reading about a electric race car that they couldn't keeps transmissions in because of the torque..

That because alot of the guys dont use the clutch or lower gears

I dont have all the info on me. Its equivalent to about 90hp

Looks pretty good, does he know what kind of range he'll get for daily driving, or is it just for drag racing? I've looked into converting my bug, but for the price just to get about a 40 mile range was $$$.

Its for commuting to work. He says two days on a charge fo rhis distance.
