After my research I think I'd rather take my Explorer into a shop and have them do an SAS rather than me screw around with it forever. With my schedule I can imagine it would take me quite a long time, and there would go all my weekends (the few I'm not working that is).
Who would you trust to send your rig to if you weren't doing it yourself? Google searching leads me to just about nothing local.
It's a 98 XLT and currently has the 4" trailmaster IFS and an excessive TT up front. 4" leaf pack SOA in the rear. I don't necessarily want to go giant with it or anything, just a D44 up front so that I can quit replacing ball joints and CV's left and right.

I'm just south of Oregon city a few minutes, but am fine with any shop within a couple hours of portland.

Not sure but I think Buzzer meant Pat at The Good Guys? He is the ONLY person I'd take my rig to. Tel him ya got his # off poorboy and he'll treat you right.
The good guys auto care is a full service auto shop in Clackamas, OR. located off of old 82nd drive at the end of hwy 212.

Awesome! Thanks folks. That shop happens to be about 2 miles from one of my jobs (the mon to thurs daily grind)! I'll stop by and see what they say.
Is it proper etiquette to find and rebuild a front D44 before buggin a shop about it? ;D

I got all my parts and SAS my ranger in a weekend. All I had to do was put it together.

Was that a 1st or 2nd gen Ranger? The 1st gen TTB ones are pretty much a straight forward exchange of parts from the research I've done, but this dumb IFS 2nd gen Explorer had a whole bunch of conversion and frame strengthening and ground up fab on brackets ect that I really don't want to dive into

one of my 4x mags is getting ready to do a ranger sas already ad a d30 8.8 but tearing it out n starting over.

second gen explorer is short long arm with torsion bars instead of coil springs and twin traction beams, first through third gen rangers had TTB, only first gen explorers did
