Alright so i swapped out a new ignition in the ranger i bought and i saw a wire that was being bypasses with a solid copper wire and i pulled the wire thinking it wouldnt be anything important.
And so long story short the truck wont turn over.
So does anyone know anything about newer truck wiring with anti theft and can do wire bypasses?

Well put the wire back lol. Atleast till you figure out where it was going is a bare solid copper wire? If so my guess it was a ground wire

No it was a solid wire bypassing something in a plug. And it looks like it ran to the ignition

Is this the white ranger that was forsale down the road from me? The wire may have been a clutch switch bypass wire. So with the wire pulled it thinks the clutch isnt pushed in when trying to start. Or if it is an automatic then it could have been a nuetral safety switch.

I bypassed the ignition system and it turned over but my battery is shot so I'll see if a new Battery will fix that

Alright I'll be at work until about 6 or hopefully off sooner. I'm picking up a diagnostics scanner and code reader today when I get off to find the real problem instead of a quick fix but I'm gonna run the bypass for now if I can get it wired in

Alright so I had one of the guys I know come over and help me he's the master mechanic at Salem Nissan. And when I switched out my ignition it turned on the anti theft thing. And he said I need a scan/diagnostics that can reset the chipped key that was for it and reset the settings. The one I have won't do that and I don't know how. So if anyone has one tha can do that let me know or knows someone that can help I'd like to have it fixed soon
