Ok I just want some opinions on whether I should rebuild the old worn out dana 50 under my ford superduty or if I should just spend the money and swap a dana 60 in the front. the dana 50 i know needs a new passenger side unit bearing and im a little nervous to pull the diff cover. truck has 200,000 miles on it. If anyone else has swapped a dana 60 in a superduty i would like any tricks or tips i can get. Oh and the ford is my daily driver and i would like to be able to still drive it daily

Dana 50's are all IFS in that body style, (92-97 HD F-250). What are you going to do about your ABS? I didn't think the OBS Powerstrokes had full ABS. And if you run a older front end you have to swap the rear too or run mismatched wheels. There is a kit to get rid off the sealed bearing units to convert to real wheel bearings and locking hubs and when I read about them they claimed the kit was cheaper than replacing both sealed units but it was a few years ago. I dunno it kinda seems like it'd be easier to leave the 50 in it and just do the rebuild and some upgrades if you need them.

Most guys will swap to a pre 97 front 60 for 2 reasons, 1. wheel bearings and strength 2. common bolt pattern.
Ballistic offers a unit bearing replacement kit for the superdutys now to replace them with wheel bearings but its spendy not to mention its ballistic.
IMO the 50 is fine just maintain it with quality parts. My fathers 99 stroke has 348k and is just getting broke in. You maintain properly and you will last a long time
