I guess I have too many irons in the fire, got this Sportster project now. Just swapped the bars and tank. The crash bar has been removed and I'm going to see about re-shaping the seat. I'm looking at putting 40 spokes on it with a 16" wheel up front with a fatter tire. I'm going to try to find a junk fuel tank and cut the side off to shape a cleaner battery cover that looks more like the oil tank.

What year is it? I have an '81 Sportster in my shed waiting for room in the garage to finish up putting it back together.

welcome to the hd club...meaning hundred dollar club , why a spurtster? Im not a big chopper fan, I have some bobber pics saved that I really liked and they were based off a sportster. It was built august 89 so if it's like a car I guess it would be considered a 90.

Not trying to totally copy this bike but there's a couple things there I want to do to my bike like the fat front tire. This has probably been beat to death but I am going to be looking for some one to do some powder coating. I wana do the rocker boxes, side engine covers, wheel hubs ect

New tank had a dent in the top edge so it needed a little work. About to add another coate of primer and might spray black on it.

Started the back fender today, found some satin black that's cheap looks good I'm going to do the tins in and use my gloss on the engine and various others for accents.
