I agree, that little 4.0 is gonna be pissed. Make sure you take your trans outa OD and put an additional cooler on it. I think you've got the AW4 trans, right? The stock Ford coolers are stacked plate. If you get one off a F350 with towing package you gots yourself a heck of a cooler. Welcome to the world of trying to find a place to park your trailer enjoy! The Black Jeep already has a trans cooler on it. good size one installed from the factory. There is a button on the dash for towing that takes the tranny out of overdrive . I've even cut a hole in the hood and put a cowl scoop on it to remove heat from the engine compartment. I've even put a heavy duty 4 core radiator in. Thanks for all the ideas, keep them coming in case I've missed something

This is what I meant by weight distribution hitch and sway control, if it feels a little sketchy this stuff may help. My neighbor had a v8 grand Cherokee and pulled a 24 foot camper behind it, they used this stuff and it worked and pulled it comfortably, easy driving. I've heard these work well, I may need one if it sways too much. I can see hauling a camp trailer where you would need one. Good gust of side wind, and your all over the road.

I'm thinking about doing drive-over-fenders on the trailer. Any ideas?

Get some 1/4" angle iron and some decent thickness plate. Brace them up decent and it should be all you need.

Sounds like Strait Axle on PNW is going to help me do some drive over fenders Finally got that step cut off the passenger rear. Cordless batteries only last about 5 minutes, then takes 3 hours to recharge.

Got the over the fender ramps built: Going to pick up some black spray paint and paint the fenders before I nail the boards down. Just need to find some loading ramps now.

If you get the metal, I could probably weld some up for you. I don't think you'd need much more then some 1/4" angle iron. Forest Grove Iron Works is usually a decent price, or you could try a scrap yard.

Jeep won't fit between the fenders, that's why I have the wood stacked in between them. There's only about an inche that will touch the fenders. If I took the fenders off, it may squeeze between the tires, but might get stuck.

i ment the stack of boards stacked beside the fenders, where will the front tires sit once you drive over the fenders if you had to widen the rear to get on

Widening the rear of the trailer is just add extra security if anything slides while loading it.
