I don't usually run it out of gas unless it's the last ride of the season. The way I start mine is turn the fuel on, turn the choke on, leave the ignition off, kick it over 10-15 times slowly to build compression and draw fuel in, then I turn the ignition on and it usually starts within a few kicks.

If I remember all run it out befor I store it cause I've had the needle a seat stick close before, and I had to take it all apart to unstick it. also its mix gas so the gas part will evaperate and leave the sticky oil behined.

Tyler sucked another set of Boyesen power reeds this weekend... I called Boyesen's tech support to ask why and they suggested the power reeds were not enough for his banchee.
They will warrenty the reeds but suggested we step up to the "Rad reeds" and they would give me a discount of the differance. Wow they are still over $200...
So, do I spent the $$, or just replace them again? or do I switch to the Vfource3 reeds (Still lots of $$)? Any suggestions would be helpfull. I have never - ever sucked a reed vaulve in all my years of riding 2 strokes.

Is there a reason why you never invite anyone else riding?

Is there a reason why you never invite anyone else riding? Sorry it was last minute and I was taking the whole family, didn't know how much riding we would really be doing versis sitting and watching my two younger ones play on the beach. Turns our we spent a big part of the day working on Ty's bike... Plus I thought if I posted up about going quad riding, I might get grief about not working on the jeep

So.. We went and spent the $$ for the V force reeds. When I pulled them out of the box the first thing I noticed was a scratch on one of the carben fiber reeds!! This is a bad deal because it is in the same spot that the boyesen reeds keep failing in. (Sorry have to look close. I took several pics but none really show it well). After talking to Bryan at extremepreformance I was going to put them on, he said it would be OK. We ripped apart the old reeds and noticed with my intake, the V force reeds will not work. Most intakes are flat where they mount to the reeds, mine have this protrusion and a plate..

After talking more with Bryan, He let me barrow his intake and V force reeds he use to run on the pink Banshee. I took them home and we put them on Tylers bike. His bike didn't even want to start. Once started it seemed to run on 1 cylinder most of the time and the other cylinder seemed to "pop" every now and then.
I had Tyler switch spark plugs to see if the problem followed the sparkplug and the bike fired up and ran pretty well. (Hmm, maybe a spark plug wire was not on all the way or something??) We let it warm up for a time. After it was warm we noticed it didn't seem to have as quick of response and it would not hit as high of RPM's as before. It seems to be missing the top 1000 RPM's and we also noticed it would not idle without giving it more gas.
We could set up the idle and get it to run. I double checked everything looking for a leak. Non that I could find. (ugh)..
After bugging Bryan again this morning, I think we will send back the V force reeds and get the same reeds we had for it (Warrentied) If Boyesen will not warranty the reeds, I may step up to the carbon fiber reeds that will work with his intake.
This still sucks because people say the v fource reeds are better then the Boyesen's, but they will not work with the intake and I don't want to spend more $$ on it and take a chance it will not run better then before.
