you could always mount your drag link on top your tie rod as close to the end as possable... I went that rout because it was the only way I could keep my heims from binding... I have been driving it for 6 months or so with a few wheeling trips in there and never had any issues.... does your drag link use a heim or a rod end ball joint?

thats a possiblity i didnt think of that, i could still run my high steer with that setup i and it would make the draglink have even less of an angle almost parrell with the drop pitman its only at 7'' or so with the stock one on and add that extra 2 inchs and the 4'' drop thats about 1 '' over about 3 feet which is pretty much nothing.

you may want to concider building a nice solid bracket around that steering setup to get it mounted in double shear especially due to the amount of torque it will place now... It looks like you have enough extra bolt to build a good bracket. I would do at minimum 1/4in plate inverted L but if you go 1/4in I would lean more towards boxing it in on 3 sides for strength... I would also watch for binding in the jointduring flex...

i fabbed it up to specs of the bullet proof steering idea you think it wont be strong enough? i flexed it out a little bit to check for binding and it seemed to be ok at full flex on the drivers side it sits right on top of the drag link parrell so i think it should be ok ill have to think about make a bracket for strenght not sure how i am going to go about it yet you got any good ideas?

no you have a really good setup going there and might be fine with it, but a putting it in double shear will always be a stronger setup. the other option that would limit torque is to put the tierod below the arm and the draglink on top, but you will loose some tierod clearance...

yeah i thought about that and if i go out and test it and it feels like there is significant torque on that bolt i will swap the tie rod under and see how that works out for clearnce and i will of course always carry an extra 5/8 bolt for that specific reason

the studs or arm would be damaged before that bolt most likely, that g8 stuff is incredible!

worked on the heep today and got my new adaptor spindles in to run my ford rotors and then got the hubs put togather and worked a little on mounting up the rear shocks, they might be a little long but not sure yet havent quite decided how i want to mount them. anyways should be done in the next week or so once i order wheels and drive shafts.

got the exaust put all back together today got the flowmaster 50 i got from ken (Rescue ranger) sounds very nice with a pretty deep little growl to it. picking up a tube bender this weekend to make some bumpers, then it should start to look like something worth wheeling when i get the tires mounted on.
