Yah I'm running them forward, I've seen qiet a few cars run the same set up thats why I did it, I might rotate them back later so any mud that gets cleaned off falls to the ground when going forward. I don't think it makes a diff on braking though.

Got the engine out and found out the core plug under the driver side mount was getting ready to let go and the rubbers on both sides were shot. Started tearing down the engine and after getting the heads off decided new rings were on the menu tomorrow and some new bearings too.

its comming together.......................whats up with the 5 window chev??in the backround Your talking about the one sitting next to my fake dually parts truck? Not sure, it's been sitting there in that storage unit for a good long while now. It's was there when I parked my short bed over two years ago when I left for the Marine Corps. I'll ask my dad who knows the owners of the storage unit and see if knows what the deal is.

I likethose tires, the sidewall looks tough!! They are decent tires, they've been on the truck for 3 to 3-1/2 years now. They last for a while but they've balled up pretty quick on me and took some rpm to make them clean. I had wild country rvt's when it was still a half ton and they cleaned a little better but they wear alot faster so I think I'll just stick with the toyo's since my truck will see alot of road time.

I had a set back on the engine today, I was looking through heads while the Kory was going back through my engine and then he stated "we're done". I look up and see half a ring land missing. So after weighing the options, ordered and paid for a set of pistons to put in and they should raise the compression enough to make the cam happy. Hopefully things go smoother tomorrow.

You would have thought so but it didn't. I had a miss for some time that drove me out up the wall and I thought I heard something kinda knocking some times. It was real brief then went away as soon as I'd notice it, kinda sounded like a cracked flexplate but very intermittent. The cylinders were scuffed tho from when I was running a holley and it stuck a float and it flooded so bad it was pouring fuel out of the bowl vents. And for some reason my pistons didn't make it on the truck for shipping so it's delayed yet again so I pulled the lower engine mount halfs apart and replaced the rubbers with poly's. They got so bad I had to pull the front drive line cause it was trying to take my collector out. I'm hoping to get rear end finished finally and put in. I might put in the adjustable proportioning valve too if I have time. I'm frustrated tho cause I can't remember which came first, the residual check valve or the cup expanders, I know the change is around 84, 85 or 86 not sure which. If I have the check valve it'll cause the caliper on the rear not to fully release and wear the pads, I thinks it's supposed to keeps about 7 psi in the rear line for quick actuation of the wheel cylinders.

Finally got the pistons in and brought them to napa to get pressed on the rods so the engine is getting put back together. I got the other hub swaped over to disk and put new races, bearings and wheel seals in both sides and have new calipers just need to open the brackets up a little for the calipers to fit.
