I'm a quiet lurker of this site and I know how much you guys are into helping out in our woods. Its time for the Tillamook Dist. to get their OHV funding and Rachel is asking for supporting letters to go with her application. Lets give her all the help she can handle.

Hello Tillamook State Forest OHV users. The Oregon Department of
Forestry is submitting an ATV Fund grant application to State Parks on
November 16th, 2006 to fund the purchase of trail maintenance materials
and to continue current OHV program operations. Materials like trail
signs, sign posts, grassgrid block, rock, and reprints of the OHV guide.
We are also asking for funding for motorized wheelbarrows to use at work
parties, and a CRF 230x to replace Tillamook's 1993 XR250. The
department received a second equipment operator position through this
grant last year. The Department will continue to ask State Parks for
monies to support the second equipment operator position for fiscal year
'08. Lastly the department is submitting for 2 months of rental
dollars for a 5-yard Marooka rock hauler, and a second Excavator. This
will assist the department in completing some of our big equipment
projects associated with the 4WD trails in an efficient and timely
manner.

Greetings, All Terrain Vehicle Fund Allocation Committee Members.
I am writing to express my support for the Oregon Department of
Forestry's ATV grant application titled "OHV Operations and Maintenance
Grant for Oregon Department of Forestry, Tillamook State Forest."
As an OHV user I greatly appreciate having a place in NW Oregon to
recreate on my OHV. It is vital that major improvements continue to be
made to the OHV trails in Tillamook State Forest or they will become a
target for environmental groups looking to shut down all OHV use in
Oregon. Repairing and upgrading the Tillamook State Forest OHV trail
system requires continual maintenance, materials, and modern trail
equipment. The agency needs more staffing to assist with the operations
and maintenance of the designated OHV trail system. This grant will
help with continued efforts to upgrade the OHV trail system, repair
trails causing resource damage, and increase the number of miles of
trails.
Again I strongly encourage the committee's support for the grant and
believe the continued operation and maintenance is vital to keeping one
of the largest areas in the state open to OHV use open!
Sincerely,
