so since shes gunna be getting redone here soon i figured id start a thread on my rm250 dirbike
i bought the bike in december of 06 and it was the first bike i had ever ridden that had a clutch...not that smart especially since we went to grassy flats in the middle of january so i had to deal with ice.. but i managed to get the hang of it and have since had it mostly on the trails twice to browns camp and dozens of times in the upper nesstucca. being short and a fairly novice rider i have always struggled with droping the bike on the trails.
in november of 07 i seized the motor at a buddies property in dundee didnt let it warm up so she went caput it sat until the summer of 08 b4 i finally pulled the motor and took the top end into the machine shop where i was fortunate enough to find out it had been resleved pior to me buying it so i had it taken .20over
finally got it back together in august 08 did some heat cycles and road it at a family friends old property put 3 hours on it
spring of 09 went friding with my old man and some friends out of grassyflats after an hour i realized i wasnt comfortable enough on the bike to try and keep up with the quads so i loaded the bike and called it a day.
then it sat for a year till i started it (which took forever) when i was tring to sell it. then it sat for 2 years before i went to sandlake with some friends and decided i need to get the rm out there
so first time ever out on the sand with a dirtbike and i had gumed up out of tune carb and a rear tire that has seen better days she ran better and better as the day progressed but i cant get traction anywhere even on the beach it wasnt hard to get the rear tire loose in 5th gear ended up putting 9 hours on the bike that day
thenthe following weekend went back to sandlake to camp and ended up doing this
locked her up on the flats at wot in 5th. it was not fun having that rear tire lock up at that kinda of speed
so now the plan is to redo the top end either take the current sleeve another .10 over or put a new .30over sleeve in it also am gunna get the carb dialed in no more cutting out at wot and pitch black fender then do an fmf fatty pipe and spark arestor possibly a desert tank cause ive ran it out of gas way out towards the back end of sandlake and some taller geared sprockets and a paddle. gunna keep this bike as a sandflea and eventually get a four stroke for the woods
