watch out they prob put you in team driving so you never know who u will be living with in a truck. also they take lot of your money till you pay off school and if you quit early they send you to collections for there money ive been in working on trucks and trailers for 17 years get everything in writing and trust nothing that is to good to be true. hope it all works out for you. sounds like cr england is were you off to.

Step dad works for May driving the western states, he's hardly home trying to make loads and I still make more money working for Schneider National wrenching on trailers. From what I understand the money is in long haul, down side is obviously really never being home but you do get to see the country.

As long as you dont have a family at home waiting for you then trucking is a good way to make money. As far as I am concerned the time away isn't worth the lost family time for what they pay per mile.

So IC is what your thinking then, plus side you won't have any one monitoring for truck and engine over speed, hard brakes and such but maintenance is all on you guys $$$$. I know we have slip seated a couple IC's so they can finish their load, dunno how much it cost them for the loaner. Pros and cons to each, but good luck and have fun seeing the country.

ive been with con-way for 2 years now and theres some bs like any other job but the money is great and being home every night is even better. i started with them right out of school and didnt have to do any kind of long haul. look around a little before you jump into the long haul because you wont ever see your family
