I've had this bike for about 15 years and desided it was time to rebuild it. Just had the motor completly gone through and now working on stripping and refinishing the parts.

The toughest thing right now is geting the rubber bushings out of the A-arms. I don't think they were ment to come out, but I need to so I can get them powder coated. I cracked my vise trying to press them out, so now I need to get a press. There're a PITA I want to paint the frame like the FYZ450 red and black A-arms and swing arm. I scored some 2007 Raptoir 700 front shocks at a swap meet.

Not sure where you're at but I have a 12 ton press in the garage you could use to get the bushings out. I'm in Cornelius, but have a somewhat crazy work schedule. My next days off are Wed, Thur, Friday. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks, but I just went to HF with a 20% off coupon and bought the 12 ton press. And it was on sale on top of the discount ($103). So it only took me like 5 minutes to get six bushings out where it took me like an hour to get two out using the vise. Man why didn't I pick up a press before

Specs'
Prolite piston CR250 head gasket (much thinner than stock) ported and polished boisen reeds 38 PK carb bored to 39 Intake spacer FMF Fatty pipe Cascade silencer 12 Tooth front sprocket
Hopefully with the freshened up motor it'll run much better. This bike was a lot of fun in the tree digs at the dunes when it was running good.

Wow, I didn't know you were able to swap out the front shocks as well. You got alot done yesterday. Did you get it to the point to start up that new motor?

I need to get, gear oil, new fuel filter and some AV gas or race gas before I can start it. I can probably start it with premium gas, but my engine builder recommended at least running AV gas.
The tops of the front Raptor shocks were almost 1/2 inch wider than my stock shocks. I had to press out the bushing and cut the bushing down to 3/4 in wide and the upper shock mount down to 5/8 inch wide then press it all back together. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. They also look much better not being all rusty and all.

The bike blew up on me at last years Summer Bash and I finally found time to get it fixed. The guy working on it said that the brand new crank kit he put in it last year and only had one ride on it is BAD! The brand new piston I put in it was one size UNDER SIZED! So now I have to put another crank kit and piston in it and have it bored out. So he's got the hole bike this time, so hopefully it'll be right this time.

I bought the crank kit myself along with some other parts and had him put the motor together. I waited over a year before having it looked at, so I don't think any shop would warranty it because they wouldn't know how much time was put on it. This guy is straight up and is giving my a goo break on parts and laybor. we'll see when I get it back. All I want is a reliable bike!
