The 18th Annual Top Truck Challenge Showcased 10 Competitors, Two Class Winners, And A New Tank Trap Record Holder On Mickey Thompson Tires 06/14/10 Stow, OH - This year marks the 18th year for the annual Top Truck Challenge held in June in Hollister, Calif. All competitors in the Top Truck Challenge this year were competing on Mickey Thompson tires, and several were class champions. Jason Gray drove to victory in the Truck Class in his 1975 Chevy Blazer on Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires #2678, size 19.5/46-16LT. Mike Karwath earned the number one spot in the Buggy Class in a 2009 Tube Chassis Jeep YJ on Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC tires #2828, size 19.5/54-20LT. Karwath also set a new Tank Trap record of 3:34. "It was very exciting for us to share in the victory of Mike Karwath and Jason Gray at the Top Truck Challenge this year," said Ken Warner, VP Sales and Marketing, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. "Both our Baja Claw and our Baja Claw TTC tires are proven performers at this event. It was really inspiring to see all 10 Top Truck Challenge competitors using Mickey Thompson tires. It's a great testimony to the research and development that has gone into our tires, and their proven success in extreme off-road applications. We're looking forward to the introduction of our new Baja Claw TTC radial in 31 to 35-inch sizes later this year." Produced by Four Wheeler magazine, the Top Truck Challenge sets the bar for off-road obstacle courses. Competitors participate in the legendary Tow Test, Frame Twister, Mud Pit, Obstacle Course, Hill Climb, Mini Rubicon and the ultimate challenge, the Tank Trap. yeah not too many folks out there that will say no to a 4k set of tires lol. i would like to see what all these guys were running right before the event, i have a huge suspicion that most of them were running 44 boggers just like jason.

So do you think you could have done better in some areas with boggers? Or was baja up to par that there would not have made any different.

its a tough call. Bajas did just fine not sure on the boggers, the bajas had a flexier side wall.

You would have to compete against buggies there.

Haven't got the invite from Four Wheeler like they did last year for KOH. Carwash invited me out to help him crew his KOH rig. Kim and I are thinking of going down and at least helping him drink his beer.
As for running with buggies, that doesn't bother me. I would do it in a heartbeat if I had the funds.
