I got it from Tim "cascade cruisers" it is off of his ford he was parting out. I am also considering moving the rear axle forward to make the wheelbase shorter. Any tips on doing so?

I would say fined a short bed drive shaft, than cut the rivets holding your spring hangers on, move um forward, drill the rivet holes on the frame and bolt um up.(of course I would weld it if possibly) I would consider a shackle flip at that point, and make some new shock mounts. I think its a great start, it will defiantly work better for ya already with out so much bed hangin out there.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, moving the rear up to where it would meet a shorter driveshaft. Probably less labor than doing another frame swap. Already did that once, as this truck was originally a 2wd! I wanted to keep the truck in the family rather than buying a 4x4. It was more work, but I learned a-lot doing it that way, and its been in my family since 1985! I have a th-350/205 t-case, did gm put 205's in short boxes? I'v seen mostly 203's

The shock mounts would be no problem as there are mounts on the flat bed! whats a ballpark figure to have the driveline shortened?

I will keep that in mind, also keeping an eye out for a d-line from a short bed or k5 w/205

I've got a 81 4x4 short wide body and good frame if you decide to go that rout.
