I think it was runn off from the hills behind it. Sandy enough it ran under ground. I assume?

back when i was young , the puddle @ the bottom of the big bowl was full of salamanders and large enough to put a boat in , even had a little island in the middle . I allways thought the waterfall was from the lake draining ?

I've seen a few rigs go under at the bowl to where you couldn't see the roof. One year they had jetskis out there.

Yeah, those were the good ole days. It used to be way deeper than this, course this was three years ago, but more like 10 years ago, it was a pond of sorts. 38.5"s 36"s

Found some info about Sand Lake. There is an actual lake between the dunes and the coast line. The lake is hidden in the trees. It is almost west of the second so called sand bowl. If you do a google map and look up satillate view, you can see the lake. The lake is about 500ft from the coast line. It is too far north to be the feeder of the wash-out(waterfall).

we got a toyota stuck in that pond a few years ago we should see if we can get a truck back there this year. it could be the new spot its not that hard to find but kinda narrow getting there

I think (correct me if I'm wrong.. ) That lake is part of the scout or church camp that can be accessed from the beach on that trail with the stair steps

its in the ohv area you can look out on the beach and see where you are its right before the shoe tree
