Aussie locker, works great. I shimmed up the LS in the explorer I had, that worked pretty good too

Well never mind then, was going to see if you'd be interested in the carbon fiber LS clutch kit I got laying around lol. But your past that.

If I got a fair offer on it I'd let it go, don't think I'll be getting another body to drop my parts in for a while.

I was just going to keep driving the truck for a while and rebuild the engine toward fall, but that changed this afternoon, I went to drive it to my friends house and found water in #4 cylinder (locked up while cranking), I had just washed the engine compartment with some foaming engine cleaner so it was from that, meaning the intake gasket is shot on that cylinder or the injector O ring is bad, either way it's stopped, also looked down and the top stud for the passenger side engine mount is broken off...
So, time to rebuild... There goes ~$400 on Rock Auto and however much it costs to put new syncro's in the tranny...
I was going to rebuild the engine anyway because of all the oil leaks and stuff, but wasn't really motivated because it was actually running decent...

That's lame, it bend a rod? Kinda too bad that 93 didn't work out for me, it was very clean to include the engine like old person owned and hardly driven.

doubt it, they're pretty beefy, turned over fine when I was clearing it out, just using it as a sign because of the leaking manifold gasket or injector O ring and broken engine mount... the compression is ~20psi low in all cylinders (they are all exactly the same though), there's a few electrical issues that are hard to get to with the engine in, there's a few physical issues that need to be taken care of like the numerous oil leaks and the power steering pump that flings oil out the shaft seal, oil pan sealing issues, etc... If I hurt a rod, I'll just use one out of the engine I just pulled the head from to rework... Maybe I'll just pull the head that's on it and rework the better of the two instead since it's just time, I'd rather not spend the $45 resurfacing one if I don't have to.
The engine only turned about a revolution before it locked up, shouldn't have been too bad.

All cylinders low by the same amount? That's weird, you forget to open the throttle body this time lol. Your cam timing change or you pinch your exhaust some where or plug your cat?

They were all at 120psi when I checked it last, I've heard of others at around 145psi. The engine's from '86, and had wicked blowby somewhere when I was changing the valve stem seals before I put the engine in... sounded like crankcase so the rings are shot, and I bet the valves need serviced, we'll see on Saturday as I'm gonna pull the head first to inspect.

Lame, well maybe you'll have a chance of just hone and new rings. Stangs gone, scrapper picked it up today just gotta find a transaxle for the bug and get that knocked out and then I can tear into the f350

still haven't pulled the engine out of the ranger, I would have to be home for that... I've been home 4 days since the 7th... had a long weekend (all 2 days) and didn't have the energy, just worked on my tracker one day and screwed around the other, this sunday I have to swap the tranny on my tracker so I can get to work... After that I'll work more on pulling the engine. So far I've got the front accessories off other than the power steering pump, tried to get the head off but the turbo support bracket is a PIA to get off with the engine in the truck... So, next time I'm working on it I'll just pull a bunch of wires and the bellhousing bolts and fuel lines and pull the thing...
