well if its not one thing its another...... got the trans and t-case in, decided to trade my buddy my th350/203 for his 700r4/208 which was all fine and dandy till he got the rear driveshaft out of the shed and its from a truck and its the tube thats larger in the center than the ends so i couldnt shorten it, then get everything aside from that buttoned up and its got a KNOCK in the motor so now i gotta swap THAT out and try to do all of this on essentially one day or many long nights before its time for dune fest and im workin from this wednesday till next wednesday. i knew i should have just put my motor and transmission in it to begin with!!!!!! oh well enough of my ranting....wish me luck

thanks for the luck hootie, seems to have worked...... its not an engine noise, in fact its motor mounts that are so bad the engine dropped down onto the front crossmember and the balancer is rubbing on it and so every time the timing mark came around it sounded like a knock..... still need to make a rear drive shaft though

I think I have the rear drive shaft that you need, it was out of my 89 blazer, had a np241 t-case with slip yolk. Has some surface rust on the yolk but it's yours if you want it. I can get a measurement tomorrow for you if you would like. I live in Portland is the only crappy thing, quit the drive for you.

only a 45 minute drive, i know i have a 208 t-case but i have the yoke from it, not sure how long it needs to be but i think the np208 and 241 were close to the same length. i would like to come get it and see if it works and if not i can give it back to you in case you know someone in the future that needs one, and as far as the rust goes i have some emery cloth if its the same spline and not too pitted anyways

well so much for that luck i THOUGHT i had..... motors mounts were really needed but it didnt fix the whole knock, has low oil pressure and what sounds like a main knock, im gonna pull the pan check the bearing, put a new high volume high pressure pump in it and bearings if they are worn put some oil in it and see what she does, if that dont work then its time to swap the bottom ends like i was going to which im not looking foreward to since it bit my hand pretty good today, probably should get stitches but those are expensive and i think i have done worse and not gotten stitches

built a new trans xmember for it today, didnt like the flimsy stamped one and it also made it a pita with exhaust, built it from 1.5x1.5 square tube, some 2" square tube and some 3/8" flat bar, not the prettiest thing but its stronger and up higher than the xmember that i was using which didnt really fit to begin with since it was from an 85 chevy truck. will post pics later, gonna have to take it off and shoot some black paint on it so its not bright yellow and bare metal

well i didnt get a chance to pull it out and paint it today but i did get a chance to take a picturte of the new x member. and yes there is only 2 bolts in it but they are grade 8 7/16" bolts with big flat washers on top to spread the load out a little and i wont be driving it very hard till i get down and buy 4 more bolts to put in it but it is a big improvement from the x member it had in it
