I realize that not every part can be perfect every time, but with Dutchman's reputation I would have expected better.
I recieved my 35 spline 4340 Cromoly axle shaft back from Dutchman Motorsports today, with a bill for $89. Thats in addition to the $24 I paid to ship it up there. Their salesman Derick said that he would pay for shipping before I sent it, and then decided not to follow through. The shaft was 0.013" undersized between the ears of the yoke, making it impossible to install the C-clips on the U-joint caps. Derick checked the measurement himself, and informed me that it was within spec for that shaft. I have a hard time believing that 0.013" is within spec for a mating surface. He then went on to suggest that I should have ground the yoke to fit with an angle grinder. I know there is no way I could have ground it by hand and ended up with a flat mating surface. He said the only thing he could do was to install a U-joint in it and ship it back. He charged me $10 more for the joint than I paid for the same joint at Six States and then added in the shipping. So now I'm out $113 and a weeks time waiting to assemble my front axle. Needless to say, I'm not too thrilled with Dutchman Motorsports sales support. smilie_biteme

He installed thinner clips, 0.060" instead of the 0.070" clips that come with the U-joint. Why they couldn't have just machined the axle to the 3.000" that it is supposed to be between the ears I have no idea.
