Not wanting to scare anyone off and Poorboy Offroad is NOT going anywhere but I need to clear a few things up since we are getting a bit bigger now.
first, technically.
Poorboy Offroad is not a "club". We do not do monthly meetings, no officers, no treasures and no by laws. For these reasons we are not legally a non profit organization. We do not meet the criteria. I will assure you I give any extra moneys from t-shirt sales, sticker sales, raffles back to the site via internet fees or giveaways. I am not here running a business.
What is Poorboy Offroad legally?
We are a group of friends that go out and wheel together.
We chat about our experiences on-line, we get together and have barbeque's. We get together at peoples houses that open up their home for us to play. Like Pat and his mud bog, Roger and his rock crawl. Sand lake every year. I must emphasize that we do all these things as a group not a club.
This forum is open for anyone to sign up who meets the hosts criteria. It is a message board. We share experiences and advice. Non of which is to be taken as legal advice or certified repair advice. Poorboy Offroad is not liable for damage, injury, or death caused by info or posts on this site or by members in person.
The terms "club" and "members" that are used in this forum is for simplicity not to be used as a legal standard. Yes you are a member of this message board. We are all here for fun and friends, basically the entertainment value and should be taken as such.
I reserve the right to remove any person from this site that is detrimental to our name or persons here.
We as a group of friends who do give back to the community under the name poorboy offroad. We also volunteer and donate time to ODF under the same name. I do not receive money for the name poorboy offroad from any institution.
However each individual here is to be fully responsible for themselves and passengers at all times. When we are on public land each person fully understands they are there on their own accord and under no circumstances is poorboy offroad responsible for them.
When on private property each person understands that not poorboy offroad or the property owners or responsible or to be held liable for any actions of an individual or group.
We give nicknames to members for time here or efforts toward poorboy offroad but in no way does it represent rank.
Poorboy offroad is simply a group of friends, period.
I own the name www.poorboyoffroad.com
At no fee to any user I let persons who prove they obey the law and show up to our BBQ's and trail runs run the name on their vehicle, t-shirt, flags etc as long as they remain in good standings with the "group" and purchase said products from persons or companies approved by me. I am not the group, I am just another person in the group.
I really hope this doesn't come across wrong to people. We will continue to do things as we always had but don't want anyone to think they are "joining a club". The reason being, is official clubs usually have by laws, and presidents, vice presidents and such that may be held responsible for actions of their club.
Please post up any questions or pm me. If you don't understand what has just been posted please post up so I can clarify.
I do appreciate all "members" of this site. There are many who stand out above others and some who fly below the radar but are still a valued friend.
This posts over rules all other posts or suggestions in the past that has to do with membership or club situations. From this point on any use of the word "club" will in regards to represent this great group of people and not insinuate we are an "official" club.
How legal is this disclaimer? I have no idea but then if we aren't an official club I guess it doesn't really matter.
We will continue using names on here such as "poorboy", "supporting member", "poorboy on Probation" etc. etc. They have no bearing or standing in any "Organization".
This will not change anything we have been doing such as trail repairs and group gatherings.
