those are sweet. i got a f@#kin ticket in january for improper mud guards and its like a $220-$250 ticket. i pled not guilty and got my court date pushed back til i get home from school in wisconsin, so when i get home ive got to get on top of getting some flaps on so i can get it dropped. if anyones got a spare set of large flaps to cover me that the want to sell or whatever let me know, and id even be interested in gettin some custom flaps. how much did those ones you designed run ya?? apparently these betty boops that came on the truck when i bought it dont cover enough. prolly cause the tires hang outside the fenders. the cops said i needed fender flares but those are SO GAY. anyone had sumilar troubles? let me know how ou got around it. thanks guys jason

I dont think you need fender flares so send the cop a big fat and tell him only half of your tire has to be covered! At least thats the law in most states I have seen. The flaps only cost me 100 bucks shipped to my house and they do have to cover the whole width of the tire. They are 20 bucks cheaper if you get a predesighned or blank, and you can get them in any dimentions.

The best thing you can do is follow the law. Your other option would be to give up driving on the street. If you think the law is without merit have a friend drive your truck and you follow, do it in the rain on pavement and down a gravel road. Personally I like fender flares.

I dont mind fender flares either I have em on my rig. And the laws are there for a reason. But most states only require more than 50 percent of the width of the tire to be covered by fender, and the entire width with mud flaps. Best thing to do is call the local HP and ask, thats what I did. I actually read a forum debait from cops where some were braging for puling trucks over and giving them tickets for not having flares, one even said he wasnt even sure if it was infact a law. then one HP got on and posted that only half the tire had to be covered by flares but mud flaps need to cover the tire. I couldnt believe the things these cops were braging about!!! So basically know the laws and keep them but also know them so you can defend yourself!!!

we have yard goats that are street legal with full hydro steering. Cool!!! When I went to the HP and told them I wanted to put hydro steering the guy was like why, why would you want to raise and lowere your vehicle, I told him no it was for steering and he was like, well there is no law and if there was no cop knows enough to check for it!!! LOL I thought it was pretty funny. I dont know why some states have a problem with them, even if the car is off you can steer its about equilivelant to if your power steering were to go out!!!
