The new clutch is in.Now just waiting on the BBT to bring some more goodies. Got a Wrangler rear spring conversion coming from Dunks in Springfield, lot of neat stuff coming from Trail Tough also in southern Oregon, and some small items from Roadless Gear. And hope to have Sky OTT steering soon. Bought back my 32/10.50/15 Radial TSL's from the guy i sold them to,he never used them. So the plan is to swap in Wrangler rears, and move the Sammy rears to the front with Missing Links, should flex awesome. Got Kick centers w/5.12 coming, gonna have to can the fronts to make em work ,but it's cheaper than aftermarket axles. Found a wiring problem, previous owner torched out the factory seat brackets,in doing so he melted the rear wiring harness under the seat pan and now everything is FUBAR. When i fab the new bumpers i will make my own harness to match the new lighting i put in,so no big deal, just extra work i don't need right now. Fuel pump took a dump,go figure. So far i am only a week behind schedule in completeing it in time for the May run, gonna be tight but i think i will make it to Sand Lake. Z

well slight change of plans. Got to looking under the Sammy while getting ready to swap springs and i noticed the PO did a hack job on the SOA. Pads are from a trailer, not even welded on, they are bent, broke, flattened out,the ubolts are bent as well as the plates. The brake lines are toast. So today just ordered parts from Sky. New spring pads, brake lines,OTT steering, adjustable rear upper shock mount, lower shock mounts, new top plates,u-bolts, driveline spacers, and a traction bar. Going to flip the u-bolts to the top of the axle. this morning the wife ordered new 2" Aluminized exhaust complete from the manifold back including cat. Total spent today on the Sammy $1200.00,ouch this hurts. Still need a set of T/C gears, not sure if i want 5-1 or 6-1 gear set, seems no gears are avail right now as the gear makers are building Yota stuff, seems Sammy owners are cheap and don't want to pay the bucks that the Yota guys will. Looking at custom housing for the rear so i can use the kick center and Chro-Mo axles, found out i have 2 Kick front centers, need a cast iron one for the rear, more problems. Got the tune up done, runs good now. Gonna do my Wrangler rear spring conversion, and move the rears to the front this week while i wait for the other parts. Got the Petroworks skid plate, nice piece of armor. And one last pc of good news, the left front King Pins are bad,it just keeps getting better by the day. Oh,and don't order anything from RRO,what a bunch of clowns. When i bought this thing i figured $2500 and i would be ready to go,HaHaHa,yeah right. One good thing today,i found out the PO will be at Sand Lake over Memorial weekend, looks like he and i need to have a little chat. Jason,i don't think this one qualifies as being a PoorBoy rig ;D Z

i am running a 1.3 with 2" exhaust. There are lots of Sammys out here,i just bought another for $50.00,gonna be stretched to 103" WB with a 1.9 TD,yota axles,Rock Blok,8.1 T/C gears, and lots of Toob. Looking for a 200+ crawl ratio. Stock Zuks have a 3.73 ratio. Kicks and tracks use a 5.12 in the stick models. You CAN the side gears and put the kicks right into the stock Sammy axles,if you want to use the alum 3rds,or you can swap the R&P in to the Sammy axles with only a new crush sleeve. the Sammy uses a 4 pin carrier so a spool or a locker fits, kicks use a 2 pin carrier so they are weaker and no locker options avail. Sammy fronts are 22 spline, direct bolt in,rears are 26 spline so you must change the side gears and install a CAN to keep the side gears tight. I can buy the complete kick centers for $100.00 each, and only need to spend $35.00 for the can to install,or pay approx $300.00 for gears and master install kits.So for less than the price of 1 new gear set i can replace both front and rear. The only draw back that i'm aware of is the the kick pinion is only 8 tooth, but if you are a technical driver this shouldn't be a problem. Now if you are heavy on the skinny pedal you may get 6 months out of the rear Anything else you need to know ;D i will post some pics of my build up this weekend. The new rear axle is in,5.5" of lift,Traction Bar,High Steer,2" exhaust, custom shock mounts front and rear, and most importantly....A PoorBoy Off Road windshield decal...been holding onto this for a while. Next weekend a cage is going in,new winch and front winch mount.New custom rear bumper with LEDs ,ConnFerr roof rack i have had hanging around the garage ceiling for a while. Still have to find some 15" 2.5" back spacing wheels so i can mount 32" Swampers . Got to get the second battery in for the winch, and hook up a Hell Roaring battery system. Still waiting for 6.1 T/c gears. but it has come a long way in a short time. And the Rubicon is 50 days away Z
