Are you talking about a tractor 3 point hitch rod? If so I would not use them on the street.

They will get sloppy fast, my brother ran them just as traction bars and he changed them often.

Drag tires for the jeep ;-).. We may put these on the front and the buggy's paddle tires on the rear for the sand. They are the same height and should help compress the sand for the paddle tires. Think they will work better then my TSL's?

Update:
So at the Sweethome Mud fest, we melted a ARB air line. We got a kit to repair it, but it continued to have a small leak. This weekend we replaced it with a new line from the pump to the back locker and re-rounted it so it should not melt again. During that process, we found a cracked rear 4 link bracket, and some miss-alignment spacers on a 4link that were moving in the joint.
We JB welded the miss alignment spacers to the hyme joint, then started working on the cracked bracket. Well we needed decided to take the rear tire off to better weld the bracket and low and behold, we found yet another problem. The rear passanger shock was broken out of the top bracket. The pin that that holds the shock in place was broken. Probably from hanging tires with no limiting straps.
After we fixed everything, we replaced the 39.5 tires with our older 38's. The jeep drives much better with those tires on it.
Where do people buy limiting straps from and how much shorter do you make them from where the shocks top out, 1" or so? Does the limiting straps stretch over time?
Also we are thinking of selling our 39.5 and buying newer 38's as the jeep drives great with those tires on it. If you see a good deal/trade on some 38's please let me know. I'd really like some pitt bulls but they may be out of our price.

you said you have had some issues with the truss you have? what kinda issues... The suck down winch continus to work with no problems, other then it hardely ever gets used. I did pull the fuse off out of it because a couple times I came home and the rear axle/body was sucked up tight.. Probably from a wireless device around the house messing with the wireless winch. The front truss. It's made out of 1/4" steel from skyjacker and the top 4-link ties into it. The welds on the plates have cracked in a couple places so I needed to gusset them for more beef.

So when I build my gussets it needs to be heavier than 1/4in, so maybe run a half inch top plate and box it in with 1/4in? My four link will tie in to the truss front and back so that would have to be heavy enough to no be a concern.... Thats kinda funny about the suck down winch...

I would almost suggest keeping the truss and the 4-links seporate peices, or at least make them overkill as 1/4" plate for the combination did not hold up well in my jeep, and I don't feel I wheel hard. Or at least not as hard as several others.

i am not sure that I can keep them seperate since have to have the top link on the truss for space issues. but overkill is something I can certainely do...
