Well I figured that I had every thing I needed but I had to buy a 23 spline input shaft for the 4.7 gears. It was $170 I ordered it yesterday. When it gets here I will get it put together. Probly get some pix. Then of cource I will be putting it in before long. Total for a spare 23 spline transfer case with 4.7 gears....$370 Now that's a killer deal!!! I think that almost makes up for the 454 I got burned on... Craigs list isn't all bad I gues.

I did some research and found out that my turbo trany has a 4.31 1st gear instead of the 3.93 in the rest of the typical toyota trannies. This means that my crawl ratio is 114.93 and will be 244.32

this is what the shaft looked like when I baught the case. This is the new shaft This is the back side of the 4.7-1 gear set with the new shaft installed (the top shaft) This is the compleeted assembly ready for installing into the truck, and the brocken shaft. This was realy easy and only took a couple hours. The marlin crawler web site made it easy to refer to they're installation dialog.

The last trip to browns camp I tore out the threads in the drivers side knuckle and trashed the steering arm. I'm jonesing to go wheeling and am going to have to fix it soon. I also need to reseal the pumpkin in the rear. I think I broke off a couple of the studs. I will probly drop in the 4.7-1 transfer case too. I am still trying to round up the parts to repair the steering too.

the studs are realy small and for some reason I alwayse do that. Torque to the ground and load transfer I think. I have changed evry thing to a diferent set up from the origonal set up and no matter how I set it up or witch part I change , it still does it. I don't know anyone else that has this problem either. It is either the truck or my driving that is doing it. I need to drill it all out and install bigger studs some day.

Ya I was workin on re-sealing the rear end. There was a stud that got rock rashed on the bottom of the punkin. You have to pull the axels to pull the 3rd member to take off the nut on the inside and remove the stud. I had to cut the end of the bent stud off to get the 3rd out. after that I started to swap in the 4.7 transfer case. I have the steering fixed and ready to go. I ran into some complications when I was swapping in the new case. It was locking up in low range. I wound up tearing it apart and it wound up that I left out a snap ring and a gear moved up against the shift linkage. glad I noticed the problem. Now I have to tear apart a nother cast to get a snap ring. Unless some one has a junk toy transfer case laying arround. I think I should have it all buttoned up tomorrow.

Well?? I broke the input on my second case which was the 23 spline 4.7 gear set. Hope there isn't a common reason. When we replaced the input we put the shift lever for the high/low in wrong and it bound up in low range and wouldn't come out we had to pull the case back apart.
