every time I get one close to where I want it, something happens to it and I gotta start over. The toyota I had before this one was an 83 long box. I lost it off the tow bar on the highway. The hitch was too worn out and it totaled out the body. I wanted a 4runner anyway. I saved the running gear and put it in the runner. The runner was for sale cheep with a bad motor and trany. I had already upgraded the 83 to the W56 trany so I was able to use it.

When this one gets too trashed I'll probly build a 90-92 4runner 4 door. Nicer for the kidlets to get in. They're gettin down prity cheep. I will get a 4 cylinder 5 speed so I can use my trany and t-cases I should hopfuly be able to use my front end to sas convert it too. Depending how bad the firey crash is. LOL

Just picked up a used transfer case off of craigs list. It has 4.7 gears in it. The 21 spline input is brocken. I have 23 spline, so that doesn't matter. I'm not putting it in right away, though. I'm buisy with the chevy, and nothing is broke. So I'll just do it later. It will be nice though. I will have low range in the first box. Or I can put the first box in hi and the second in low and have double low. Or put them both in low and have tripple low. With dual stock geared cases I have a crawl ratio of 108. With the 4.7's in 1 case I will have a crawl ratio of 223...

That is the setup that I have, holy crap its low, definently a CRAWL gear. I have 4.88's and 38's and it is LOW. Work really nice going down hills, especially in reverse.
