I thought I would post up my build, so here it is
Details.
83 Ford ranger, 4x4, 2.8 V6 5Spd etc... Whats going in,
92 explorer 4.0 explorer 8.8 rear with 3.73 ls gears Dana 30 Front out of an 84 XJ that also has 3.73 and was cheap 3 link-ish w/ track bar front susp. (y-link on Drivers side, single lower on Passenger) 4" EB coils Explorer spring in the rear
It will end up with a Warn upright winch ( precursor to 8274, made in '58!) Painted OD green and with some Tree proof taillights
what I have done so far..
Getting the D30 cleaned up
The 8.8 is mocked in place and the Explorer is partially torn apart.
I'm going to tear out the Front axle out of the ranger so I can start mocking up my Front set up.

well I got some work done to it and I picked up some new goodies... I got the original axle torn out and all the brackets ground off, and I have the D30 all cleaned up, all it needs to be complete is new u-joints and some gear oil. The D30 is sitting on jackstands right about where it needs to sit and thats all I've gotten done on it. I should get some more done as soon as I finish selling off some parts. on to the pictures and I also got myself a little 90 amp welder.. for 20 bucks

I hope I can get some time and materials to get back to work on the truck again soon, probably soon after I get the stuff I am selling pulled and whatnot.
at least you guys got pavement.. gravel SUCKS (Feels great to dig the rocks out of your back/arms/everywhere after working out there for a while). as for when it starts raining, I move to something under the truck lol..

gah.. I got yelled at by the city today because it is "unsafe" when in reality it is very sturdy ( I have gotten some 6 ton jackstands and put them up front since the last pics).. So I guess there will be some mandatory progress in the next month or so (even if it is just throwing some tires on the 30 and putting crap around the jackstands lol)

seems like even if you have a garage or a shop that it just fills up with crap and you end up working outside on somthing anyway lol so at least your shops big enough that it wont ever get to full lol ... nice project that will be cool to see when shes done

It's pretty much in the same state as it was when you saw it buzzer, although I am getting some tube for the links through school(get a discount) in the next couple of weeks I hope. that just leaves me needing bushings and springs to finish up the front. As for the rest, it will get done ASAP..

Well I ordered a set of Wild horses 4.5" EB coils for it on thursday, and the tube should be ordered next week or so. then all I need is a couple bushings and another Johnny Joint and if I have enough left over I will be buying Link brackets from Polyperformance because they will save me a lot of work. as soon as I get the front end done I will be yanking the engine and putting in the 4.0.. after the engine is in and running I will most likely be getting a set of 63" chevy springs for the rear end as they can provide about 5" of lift with minimal work/cost.
