That portion of the cage was left overs from another bronco a friend had. He wanted a new cage so I took his old one. I had to cut it in half so I can redo the front portion.

I paid around $60 for it and it bends sch40 just fine. However once you get up to 1 1/4" sometimes it bends smooth and sometimes it will kink. So on 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" I just preheat the pipe then it bends great. Now for the disclaimer....... I am not here to say pipe is better than tube when building cages. There is a reason the big boyz and baja guys use tube, Its lighter and strong and I'm not gonna get started in that debate.......... Now back to pipe. It is heavier but from MY experience with the proper bracing it is no weaker than a tube cage for what I do, in fact the material is much thicker. Also for my tube(pipe) bed I have drug on rocks and trees and hit crap with out a single ding. I have seen several exo cages made with tube that has been crushed from trees and rocks. The cost of tube and benders is the main reason I went with the pipe. I figured out the weight difference and I have probly 200 extra pounds do to the pipe and not tube. O well thats like an extra passenger. Again I dont promote using pipe cages but I do use em.

Now that the pipe disclaimer is out of the way. Ask all the questions you want about it.

Got a lil done on the bronco today.(post pics later). I spent the last few days cutting up my brothers blazer. Anyway I removed the ford motor mount brackets and finished cutting out the firewall. Have the engine pretty much setting about where it will be. Rear drive shaft is gonna be a bit short.

still dont have the pics up but here is an update any way. Started framing in the fire wall and triming the rock sliders tonight. I get just a lil bit more done each night. might even be ready for our anual sandlake summer bash. We'll see. If the rain stops long enough I will pull the tcase out of my brothers rig for mock up. I tryed dragging up the chassis with the lawn mower but just spun and got wet so it will wait for another day.
