Some friends of mine were telling me that several of there friends told them that browns camp has the gates at the highway closed due to washed out roads. I know some of you live around the corner from there. Is there any truth to that?

There is no gate to my knowledge at the highway at the 2 most common ways in, there is a gate at Ben Smith Rd. but I've never seen it closed as there are 4~5 houses past it. The gate at Browns Camp is locked every winter till the weekend before spring break. Thats not to say they have not put one up.. That would still leave Many ways in if ya know where to go

I'm sure there is a lot of salvage work for the loggers to clean up. all over the coast.

Went up to Browns Camp today around 4:30pm...no gates anywhere. Everything is open as usual. Campgrounds are closed, that is it.

we were up yesterday hardpack as soon as you leave the hwy. roughly 1' then the higher you go the deeper it gets. I pulled a new Suburban out after he dang near drove off the side of the hill. Only in a JEEP ... I imagine chains all around helped also.. We bailed early but there were other poorboys that went higher up we turned around about the 1st leg of firebreak5.
