I was thinking about selling my 383 stroker race motor. And putting a nice 4 banger back in my yota. I love the stroker motor but I can't go play in the hills anymore or just in general. And now I kinda want to go back. But I don't know

I know the feeling. I had a 1947 CJ2A with the original motor. I wanted to put a v8 in it but it worked too good with the 4 banger. Some things a best left alone.

Well I can't take it out playing in the hills now or in the snow. And the V8 is fun and all but not for the trails and stuff I do

Find yourself a 4.3L V6, it'd be an easier swap than going back to stock since your drivetrain is already setup for the SBC... and 225ish horsepower from a later model fuel injected engine would do fine...

I'm running my 383 stroker with approximately 400-415hp wth a 510 lift cam extra vacuum canister ad Yada Yada Yada. No stall which sucks the performance outta it. Consider everything power band wise is suppose to hit around 3,300-7500

In some practical application 4 bangers would be more effective compared to a v8 engine. But now a days v6 is just enough to give you a lot of fun, but you will surely miss the roar of an v8 engine.
