That's going to be a great up-grade. I would have kept by 97 F350 if it had a maunual transmission. I was getting 15 mph around town and 17 on the highway with my old 7.3 and 35's.

I'm really starting to think about turning it in to a trail rig, kicking around the idea of a ranger cab. That would be crazy cool! a 7.3 ranger!

not just any 7.3 ranger youd have to toss the zf5 in there too you def have a pretty good looking obs would be BA if it was power stroke

Yah it's Nmb2's truck. I've read up on the truck, him and a guy with the name 91DirtyDiesel have some idi's that build some decent torque #'s but that red crew dually I think is the bench mark for most the idi guys.

ya thats pretty impressive my question is how does the bottom end like those power level anything over 500 is borrowed time for 7.3 psd rods i cant imagine a factory N/A motor would have stronger rods

but who knows how strong the idi rods are maybe its like the cummins where the 12v rods are the go to rod for anything sub 1000hp i think the idi will finding many other limits prior to finding the limits of the internals
